Many computers nowadays no longer come with an optical disk drive. That's why nearly all ChessBase products are also available as a digital download. Other than nostalgia, there's little reason to own a physical DVD of any of your favourite ChessBase tools or content these days. Ditching the disk means you don't have to worry about your three-year-old's fingerprints, keeping track of packaging, or finding all your old DVDs when you upgrade your PC. Everything is available in your Shop account.

Before you can install the Windows operating system on your MacBook using Boot Camp, you first have to download the latest version of Windows from the Microsoft site. Important: You need the so-called "ISO file". (Currently, this would be the ISO file of Windows 10. Stand 11.06.2018)
Microsoft offers the download of ISO files. You have to choose which version you want to download, which language you prefer and whether you use a 64 or a 32-bit system. You can find this information by clicking on the Apple icon and clicking "About This Mac" in the drop-down menu. There also appears information about which type of processor the Mac has.
Before you can save the partition size, you still need to specify the location to install Windows via "ISO Image" file you downloaded. Click on the "Select" button and then chose the partition. The only correct one you will recognize immediately because it should have the word "BOOTCAMP" in the name:
User zxb995511 is either a liar or a fool. ChessBase has dozens of features (including statistical analysis) which are not present in Fritz. Please consult the company webpage at www.chessbase.com or ask other people who actually know what they're talking about (such as at www.chesscentral.com)
In Fritz, you can import games from database to make an opening book, and/or import very good openings books online if you research the computer chess opening book rating lists (for example at pionerchess or sedatchess) , often these opening books are made freely available in .ctg format, what chessbase uses. In computer chess, some cool novelties and trends in sharp lines can be found in these books. but these also can be found on your own - the effort might be worth it. b/c i've never seen a really strong player just give away his or her opening prep, or say hey, these lines are what you really got to know!
SCID is the best open source alternative to chessbase I know. chessbase is for database management, if you can't be bothered to do it yourself. chessbase probably has a better player encyclopedia, openings report, can handle very large databases easier, and has an easier to navigate interface. Annotating games is probably a bit aesthetically nicer and/or easier with fritz or chessbase. i like color coding opening lines.
What I'd recommend for opening repertoire is to download some really large databases ( the dann corbit jbase, icofy base, million base, etc. [some 10 million games total] ) and filter them by ECO and strength, import the games from database into an opening book then play through the lines of interest to see which ones work. You can use Fritz for that. Then once you know what lines you want to play, use the chess position trainer software to practice them, which is freeware.
Probably Fritz is a great investment, but chessbase, to buy, one would have to be a really serious player and you've checked out the features of SCID and ChessbaseLight first because chessbase costs quite a bit more and maybe SCID has what you need.
Frankly, and I am embarrassed to admit it, I am struggling mightily with figuring out how to do it and how to get the views I like and can read easily. I have the manual but I just dont understand the weights and how to make it work properly. It just does not seem intuitive to me. I saw a video tutorial that chessbase has for fritz but it does not cover this well or in depth.
Just knew about tablebases a while ago and downloaded the Syzygy table base and I can't make them work on my Fritz 13, i select bases path bor both gui and engine, restart Fritz 13 and then i set up a position with 4 pieces and click on analisis and can't make fritz to use the bases, the program doesn't show the "tb=" think it must show so i can know it is useing the table bases, can someone tell me what should i do?, i'll be gladly thankful
Thank you so much guys for ur answers :), I have Deep Fritz 13 (downloaded yes), so i don't know if i really have to buy it to make it work 100%, also i'm currently downloading Syzygy 6-men tablebases from this website: , and iwant to know if any of u have already used these table bases and what do i have to do to make them work, thanks.

After trawling through numerous sites offering fixes that worked for some folks but not others, I found the site www.techpowerup.com site offering a download of ALL the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes in an All-in-One package.
I hesitantly clicked the links provided to techpowerup.com, downloaded the all-in-one package, did a virus scan, then installed the files/drivers. After that, I re-downloaded and installed Firefox browser and everything worked perfectly!!
The latest VC++ redistributable available at the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads should provide this dll. There is not enough information in the question to determine if the 32-bit or 64-bit version of the redistributable is needed.
All 7 men files' size is over 16.7 TiB, over storages of typical modern computers. They also require a long time to download too. Thus some users choose to download one or a few endgames only, based on their statistics of use in endgames. Bellow is the top 20 of those endgames by their order. The first one, KRPPvKRP, has a significantly higher frequency of use than the others and should be always downloaded:
